The historic town of Oliva is surrounded by orange groves 80km to the south of Valencia. It is a traditional Spanish resort with narrow winding cobbled streets, the remains of a Moorish Castle and ancient churches in the old town.

It is a beautiful unspoilt region with 10 km sandy beaches surrounded by dunes and rolling hills. The marshes just slightly inland have recently been declared a Natural Park.

Oliva has a sailing school and offers a wide variety of water sports at the beach. There is also an 18 hole golf course designed by Severiano Ballesteros and a modern sports complex with indoor and outdoor swimming pools. The Bullent and Moliness Rivers are superb for fishing where tuna fish weighing as much as 300 kg have been caught.

Property prices are increasing here but bargains can still be found on the outskirts of the town where there are still some fincas in need of restoration and plots of land for sale.
