Restaurants and bars tend to come and go, as everywhere, but here is
a selection of some of the better places.
Restaurant Clotal
Located on Clotal Beach, perfect spot, especially for families
and large groups. Delicious paellas and seafood. Try fideua - a paella
made with macaroni instead of rice.
Bar Eden
The bar is near north beach, good paella, but order day before.
Pool in garden.
Institut Bar
Good for mixed dishes (platos combinados) and tapas.
Monte Cristo
A t Oliva Playa, pleasant atmosphere and generally good all-round restaurant.
Late night summer haunts
Open until the early hours are the chiringuitos or beach bars. At the
roundabout at Oliva Playa, turn right past the telephone kiosk and follow
the beach road for a mile. You'll come to three or four of these bars,
but they do seem to chop and change and move up and down the coast.
There are also a couple of beach restaurants where good paellas and
fidueás can be enjoyed, near the telephone kiosk at Oliva Playa.
Try Deportes, it's superb. (Remember paella or its macaroni-based equivalent,
fideuá, are really lunchtime dishes. No self-respecting Spaniard
would order a paella for dinner).
